Elena Kats-Chernin's music takes us on a captivating journey inspired by the 1922 children's book by Annie R. Rentoul and Ida Rentoul Outhwaite. This enchanting composition, originally commissioned by the Queensland Music Festival in 2011, spans 50 minutes of lush, imaginative soundscapes in songs that bring the fairy tale to life. Kats-Chernin's score blends pizzicato notes, pure operatic tones, and instrumental passages teeming with life, creating a vivid musical narrative that invites listeners to visualise forests, friendship, and magical wishes.

Arriving at a peculiar resort-sanatorium, a woman's plans for weight loss in a weekend to save her marriage are hilariously derailed, when her husband unexpectedly checks in. Lured by a Healer with a reputation for a quick fix, an array of unique and entertaining characters struggling with the complexities of modern life soon realise their healing is not as straightforward as they thought.
